Baby Euan at almost 2 weeks!

Here is a follow-up on the prego pics of Priscila and I. We had an extended family party last weekend and here are the pictures of her son Samuel, and our Euan. Samuel was about a month and Euan wasn't quite 2 weeks and they both were 8 lbs and about the same length! Yep, he's a big boy! And the proud great-grandma!

Baby Euan!

He is here! Baby Euan Scott Morris was born June 24th at 6:16 pm and was 8 lbs. 4 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. His mommy, sisters, and daddy are very happy to have him here, especially after the doctor discovered his cord was in a true knot. All the nurses called him the little miracle baby! Here are some pictures from the hospital, including our first pictures of our awesome doctor who delivered Meili and Sophia too, Dr. Young.

Meili is 4!

Meili turned four on June 14th! Being VERY prego, I tried to still make sure that she had a special birthday. On her actual birthday, we made her favorite breakfast of Popeye Pancakes (German pancakes) and put some candles in it. Then she had a Primary activity (for flag day and father's day) and I think that she sorta thought that the whole party was for her! Then, we went to a baby blessing/party and again I think she thought the cake and party were all for her.
Then a couple of days later she had a friends birthday party and I made the cake and Scott made a sweet fish pinata. I think that between all the parties and all the presents she got from our friends and family, that she didn't feel like she had gotten gyped because of her coming baby brother.

This is my greatest success so far at decorating a cake! Yeah!

Vacuum Explosion

A couple of days ago the craziest thing happened--my vacuum blew up! I had just finished vacuuming the whole house (thankfully) and just as I was about to unplug it and put it away, it started making this loud noise. Then suddenly the gear blew out a panel on the back and the front panel blew off the front, exposing the bag which poofed everywhere. I was stunned for a second, but then noticed (through the exposed panel) that it was on fire inside! I quickly unplugged it and noticed that, to top everything off, one of the wheels had also flown off!
The girls had been within a couple feet of the vacuum, too, and were waiting with wide eyes to see what my reaction would be (probably because just the day before our basement had flooded and I had broken down in tears), and they nervously laughed as I burst out in one of those laughs that comes out of you when you start to go crazy! Honestly, though, it was one of the funniest things I had ever seen.
PS This story has an awesome ending, in that I found an almost brand new $150 Eureka bagless vacuum on Craigslist for only $20!!!!! Love that Craigslist... Oh, and the old vacuum is resting peacefully at a recycling center.

Meili's Swim Lessons

Meili just got done with swimming lessons and she LOVED them! Up until this summer Meili hasn't liked swimming that much. When we would take her to the pool last year, she would wade in the shallow parts of the kid pool and not go near the deeper water (like up to her knees). But over the winter, she started practicing dunking in the tub and so I signed her up for some lessons this year. She did great! Her favorite was going down the "big kids" slide with one of the lifeguards. She even survived our freak cold spell that came the 2 weeks she was in lessons at the outdoor pool! Only a couple of the days were in the low 80s and the rest were in the 50s and 60s and one of the days was even 45 degrees!
Sophie was sad to miss out because I thought I had to go in the pool with Meili so I didn't sign her up. The first day she came with us, she looked in our swim bag the whole time for her swimsuit. "My swimsuit?", she kept asking me. It was so sad! But then I brought special treats for her to eat after that and she was good. The way to that girl's heart is definitely through her stomach.

That's what we call "So You Think You Can Dance" around our house, and is one of my favorite parts of this time of year. Scott & I actually count down the days all winter (and American Idol) long until it starts up again. We actually paid for TV again just so we could see it! We were extra excited this year because they held auditions in SLC and one of our friends who teaches at BYU had a student who we knew had at least made it to Vegas.

Prego Pics

Since my scooter posting where I was wearing a moo-moo shirt (end of the laundry time), I had to redeem myself and post a better picture of me pregnant that didn't make me look like I was about 200 pounds. Here I am with my cousin-in-law Priscila who was 38 weeks and I was almost 35. She's had her baby boy, which means that it is my turn!!!! BTW, I am now nearly 37 weeks, and I still don't like the picture, but I like to think that it looks so bad because I swell up my last month. (Delusional, I know)
